Matchblocks Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
- Matchblocks has no accounts and no sign-in. Your scores and settings stay on your device. We can't see them.
- The only things that go online are ads from Google AdMob: a small banner at the bottom of the screen while you play, and an optional video ad you can choose to watch to revive once per game.
- Ads never change the game's odds or your score.
- You can erase everything the game stores with Reset Progress in Settings, or by deleting the app.
Who we are
This policy covers the Matchblocks game ("the game"), published by Matchblocks ("we", "us"). You can reach us at bigginsbennett@gmail.com.
What the game stores on your device
To work, the game saves a small amount of information in your device's own app storage:
- Your best score, your best score today, and the best scores in each special round.
- A short history of your recent games: the score, how many spins it lasted, and whether you used the revive. The game uses it to make rough runs a little gentler, as explained in the in-game notice (Settings, How it works).
- When you last played, and your goal and level progress.
- Your sound, music and vibration settings.
- A record that you agreed to the in-game notice, and a count of how many times the optional ad was offered, watched or declined.
This information is never sent to us or to anyone else by the game. We don't run a server for it, and we have no analytics or tracking tools of our own in the game. If you delete the game, this information is deleted with it.
Ads, and Google AdMob
Matchblocks shows two kinds of ads, both provided by Google AdMob through Google's Mobile Ads software that is built into the game:
- A small banner ad at the bottom of the screen while a game is on screen. It loads when you start playing and refreshes from time to time. It is not shown on the home screen.
- An optional video ad. After a game ends you may be offered a video ad that lets you revive once. It is shown only if you tap Watch Ad.
When the game asks for an ad, Google's software may collect and use information such as your device's IP address (from which an approximate location can be worked out), device and app details, a device identifier, how you interact with the ad, and diagnostic information, to deliver, measure and secure ads. Google handles this information under its own policies:
Your choices about ads. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google shows a consent form the first time ads could be requested, and ads are only requested as your choices allow. You can change your choices at any time from Settings, Ad Privacy in the game (the row appears wherever the law requires it). The game does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so Apple's advertising identifier is not made available to the ads. You can also manage ad personalization in your Google account at adssettings.google.com and in iOS under Settings, Privacy & Security, Apple Advertising.
Ads never change the game. Banner ads and video ads do not change your odds, your score or anything else in the game. The only effect an ad has is that watching the optional video ad to the end earns the revive.
What we do not collect
The game does not ask for or collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, microphone, precise location, health information or any account details, and it does not contain purchases. We do not sell the information stored on your device, because we never receive it.
Children
Matchblocks is rated 9+ on the App Store. It is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will help. Parents can use iOS Screen Time and Apple's content restrictions to control what their child can use.
Your choices and rights
- Erase game data: open Settings in the game and use Reset Progress (it asks you to tap twice), or delete the app.
- Ad choices: see "Ads, and Google AdMob" above.
- Privacy law requests: because we do not receive or hold your personal information, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For information Google processes when it serves an ad, you can use the controls above or contact Google. If you aren't sure where to turn, email us and we'll point you in the right direction.
Security and retention
Game data lives only in your device's app storage, protected by the same iOS safeguards as your other apps. We keep nothing on our own servers, so there is nothing for us to retain.
Changes to this policy
If the game changes in a way that affects privacy (for example, adding a new kind of ad or feature), we will update this page and the "Last updated" date, and the in-game notice will ask you to review it again.
